Germany built it only because FN refused to sell them a license for the FN-FAL.
Delayed roller block belongs on a true intermediate cartridge or a submachine-gun or a medium or heavy machine gun, not a full power shoulder controlled battle rifle in 7.62x51 NATO.
Recoil impulse is kind of lively for such a weighty rifle IMO.
Crappy trigger too.
If it was so great how come 24 Pak Army peacekeepers died in Somalia with G3's in hand, 1992???

And not really a great example Hk45Auto, the early AR was shoved done the throats of soldiers in combat with not much real testing development. Hence it's poor performance with the few directed Army mod's and ammo change.
USMC gave their folks in SE Asian theaters, an option of M14 or M16 right up until 66-67.

Held the HK, and shot the HK not really impressed here.

Sounds like gun nuts are the same the world over. The OP shared far more of himself that any other poster I've come across. Gives us some backround. The bulk of the world's population is born into much more restricted circumstances than we enjoy here. The earth is a much bigger place than we in NA often admit.
