Been all over the map with a 7mm Rem Mag. POI will shift 1.25 MOA down and 0.75 right depending on action screw torque. I have noticed that the screws work lose over several shots-due to recoil?
The firearm is a circa 1970's M700 bdl. When I initially took it apart, it had thin washers between the stock and bottom metal. I removed them but am wondering if there was a purpose for them? Would they help with keeping the action screws at a set torque? Btw, the barrel is floated with lug and 2" forward bedded-my other Remmy's shoot great this way.
Any solutions or other ideas on what could be happening appreciated.
