POI shift

Nikon Prostaff 5, 2.5-10, 1 inch, one piece mount, Leupold rings, shooting 338 Win and doing load development. After shooting six rounds of 225 gr SSTs, and after switching to 225 gr Trophy Bonded Bear claws, the POI suddenly shifted 4 inches higher. Nothing is loose and the POI shift stayed constant with other ammo. I have no idea what happened but I am now very leary of this scope. Do any of you experts, especially guys who know a lot about Nikons, have any ideas? If I haven't included enough information please tell me what else is needed for proper analysis. BTW, the rifle is a custom very old (1964) left handed Savage.

Not unusual for different bullets of the same weight having different POI's. Maybe try the SST's and see if the POI is the same as it was. If not then the POI is drifting and the scope is defective. Or some issue with your rifle?

Nice cartridge btw, I recently acquired a 338 WM Ruger Hawkeye.
