...I just got my hands on a pretty sweet 14" Police mag and I have a question. Did Remington police mags ever come with a Chrome bolt?
I have to admit I like the looks of the chrome bolt, and if I was to find one could I swap the internals from my current police bolt into the chrome one and still fire 3" rounds???
 
Excellent, thanks MBP. Any members know offhand where I could pick one up? (besides the EE of course) Did Police models ever come stock with the chrome bolt?. For some reason I have the idea in my head that I have seen older police or LE models with the chromed bolt :confused:

the old gloss blued police may have come with a chrome bolt, not sure. there was an 870P thread earlier with some blued 870Ps posted, perhaps check that thread and see if they had chrome bolts?

I've gotta have both. I picked up some beat-up Police wood from Numrichs that I am currently re-finishing. With the wood on I would run the chrome bolt for the old-school look.
The Parked bolt would be used with the Tupperware.
Is that bolt in your parts-bin MBP? does it need a loving home? ;)
 
nah its part of a gun :)
IMO its its going to be difficult/expensive for you to find just an 870 bolt.
you may be better off looking for a Wingmaster receiver, taking the bolt and then parting the rest of it out: the metal triggergroup should fetch a decent price for people wanting to replace their plastic Express or Marine Mag group, you could also sell the forend tube, etc... maybe the bare receiver to someone who wants a project gun or has a damaged receiver.
