Hi all, I'm just curious what kind of accuracy people are experiencing at 100 metres with the Polish M44 Mosin Nagant.

I'm thinking specifically of results at 100 metres with fire-formed and neck sized re-loaded ammo and not all of that kick the s^&t out of your shoulder surplus ammo currently available.

thanks :) .

My reloads weren't all that differant in recoil from the 150gr surplus rounds. I can tell you my polish m44 loved the surplus but really opened up with the reloads.

I haven't reloaded for mine, but with the "kick the s^&t out of your shoulder surplus ammo" I was ringing a 8" gong at 200 yards everytime. The bayonet on the side lets people know you mean business :p :D .

I heard they shoot best with the bayonet deployed. Not sure though.

I was ringing the gong with it closed. Never touched the sights. Just cleaned her up and started shooting. I'll have to try with it open and see where the rounds go  :p .

Mine didnt care if it was extended or not. With with surplus ammo it was dead on first shot, touched nothing on the rifle. I think it maily some of the Russians that have bayo sensitivity

Well - Its the short radius iron sights that will limit your accuracy - the rifle itself may be capable of more accuracy/repeatability. 3-4 inches would be very good, 2 inches would be excellent, with decent ammo (particularly decent bullets)
If you want better you need to improve the sights - then your reloading efforts will be more rewarding.

Heard the same thing...

If you grab the muzzle on these things and wiggle it....it doesnt touch any of the wood.

It is virtually a free floating barrel....the bayonet folded would contact the wood.

I've always shot mine with the bayonet extended. Just be sure to properly clean the bayonet after shooting as the corrosive residue from milsurp cartridges will wear the bluing on the bayonet. I've found it to be very accurate especially considering the shortness of the barrel and the fact that it came out of a Second World factory.

mines nice and accurate but it hate to be shot with the abyonette folded i couldn't hit paper at 25 yard with it closed but soon as i extened it it shot quite well

I just got one and haven't shot it, yet - still needs some cosmo cleaned out of it. That is interesting about the bayo.
