They have been in the $250 - $275 price range for a very very long time..... I bought one years ago when the were new in the grease for $250.

Sounds good... thanks for your input...

Will offer 250 and go from there...

I miss my M44... This should be a great replacement....

New in grease, with sling, unfired will bring a bit of a premium. Shoot it a few times and knock $50 off the price.

Most of the places that originally sold these beautiful rifles, took the wrapping off of them and sold the slings separately. If you can get one in the wrap includeing a sling, maybe as much as $450.

If its been shot, but still in excellent condition and no dings as well as cleaned properly, $300 is fair. Anything less is a very good deal. I would buy several right now for $250 each if they were still new in grease, with a sling and of course have been stored properly.

They are unapreciated, because they never saw combat in WWII and aren't Russian or Finn marked. They are also under valued in my estimation. Only time will tell. I kick myself for turning down good rifles because of a minor variation in settling price.

I bought 1 13 years ago, unissued, unfired in the cosmoline, with the sling and 2 compartiment oil bottle for about 150$, put in my safe and still in the grease, never been fired. She's on my never sell list, the fit and finish on those is absolutely amazing!

They are very nice rifles, well made. As bearhunter said; "They are also under valued". Mostly because they are historically insignificant.

w07, in a few years you will look back on what a great deal you got. The Pole M44s are cheap because the world has been flooded with millions of M44 refurbs. When they dry up and they will, you will see the changes.

$300 is ok. They shoot well good quality. The new in grease ones come from civil defence
stores. The slightly used that were brought from Poland were not shoot alot might be none. They were Police reserve rifles or from industrial security guards or old forest service (It was issued with rifles but never with ammo)
