I am interested in finding a nice M44 with 11 marking. What should i look for in these and what should be decent price. I know nothing about them. I did see quite few for sale a while ago but not now... were they quite inexpensive at one point? Please advise. Thanks/.

BTW 900 posts. this calls for a small celebration. two away from 100 Trader rating still at 100%. Thanks CGN!

Im also looking for the same gun as i have polish commando fighting knife with the same "11" stamp.

I bought a polish M44 from SIR (now Cabelas) for $114 back in 1997 if i remember, unissued with oiler and sling, still unfired by me. Last year i bought another from a CGN member, paid $300 unissued one too. I planned to shoot 1 and keep the other as a safe queen but they turned both safe queen:D They pop up on the EE from time to time. Expect to pay $300-$350 for unissued, excellent for about $250-$275 and good to very good should go for about $200-$225. Thoses polish are the cream of the M44,perfect fit and machining.

Well they are as nice as nice can be, so I can see why a premium is required to get the best of them... but yeah, they were cheaper not too long ago. Shows the importance of needing buyers in order for something to get a decent selling price...

I have a nice one on the EE for sale , im selling it cause i already have a unissued Polish M44 new in box .. They are one of the highest quality mosins out there , slick actions and great triggers.

These are by far the nicest Mosins ever made.
I made the mistake to sell my first one, acquired brand-new for $90.00, 25 years ago.
Now, last year I found another brand-new one for $250.00, and this time I will keep it. :) Promised.
It amazes me that they are still available, and that they are coming up from time to time on the EE at reasonable prices.

Here is mine:

Sorry, can't help you and point out the "bastard",
but here is some advise for you:

First of all, get up early in the morning, try to move as swift as possible during the day, and don't sit on important decisions for weeks!

If you follow my advise you may even find a good deal on the EE.

:)
