Polish MN NEW

At the same time as these came in there were some brand new Snipers available, I turned down the opportunity to get a new Polish Nagant Sniper, complete with scope, mount, sling for $400. I sure am glad I'm not flexible enough to kick my own ass, I'd never be done kicking.(I was also offered the whole crate - sequentially numbered units for slighly less than $400 per unit)

I will put up for sale on EE tonight. I am in no hurry but I need space in one of the vaults for some newer stuff. I am also putting up for sale a FN49 in near mint condition.

Henry;)

Many of the Polish, #11 factory rifles that came into the country were brand new. There were also many used rifles that were anywhere from 50% to 99% and were priced accordingly. I never did see any of the sniper rifles that are reported on this thread, to bad, I would have bought one.

One of the reasons so many of these rifles are still in unfired condition was the unavailability of ammunition. Some people bought them as collector curiosities but most bought them to shoot. It was years before a decent supply of surplus ammunition became available. Can you imagine how much the price of Lee Enfields and Mausers would escalate if relatively cheap surplus ammunition were available?

I'm wandering off topic now so back to the Polish M44 rifles. Many of these rifles, although unissued and unfired have been handled to the point that the stocks have become stained and dirty from careless handling. I saw a couple at the Penticton gun show yesterday that other than a little finger print rust and grimy, safe beaten stocks were unfired. Many of these rifles have lost the dog collars, slings and ammo pouches that came with them. To find a complete set is a real rarity these days. The rifles there were being offered for $275 to $400. The top end rifles were complete with accessories and the low end rifles were abused safe queens. There were also a few of the SIR offerings that ran anywhere from $100 to $150.

It is gone!!!!

True collectors know the value. There are fewer and fewer nice unfired collectibles out there.

Our Canadian pricing for most milsurp is so much undervalued!

It is not what you paid for several years back, but what is available today.

Regards,
Henry;)

I have a minty polish mn, one of the best made milsurpluss rifle made as far as fit and finish. It's never seen a corrosive round down the tube. I have shot more than a few deer during the cronic wasting cull a few years ago.

Having shot other Polish, I can acertain that they are excellent shooter using Norma ammo! I hae no doubt of the accuracy and litability of the round on game!

regards,
Henry;)

They are nice examples, I had one a few years ago paid $150. If it was in the wrap it would be worth $400 to most folks. CGN has grown so much though that gun inflation has gone through the roof. Shooters are paying more for non-collectibles then collectors are paying for more desireable pieces. Out of the wrap and shot, well the prices others have stated makes sense to me as well.
I bought a Breda M1 on here for $350 about 5-6 years ago. Turned down $600 for it 3 years ago, and could likely milk $1000 out of it today.
