Polish TT33 problem?

It is very difficult to insert a magazine into my polish TT-33, it goes in fine until the top of the magazine hits the magazine catch.
And after that I need either hold the magazine release button and finish inserting, or use excessive force to fully insert the magazine.

Any tips to rectify this issue?

I'm having mag issues with my TT33 as well, l really have to press the mag release hard to get the mag out, and it sometimes hangs up going in too. Any tips would be appreciated.
 
I bought one of the new Polish TT-33s which made themselves available around xmas.

When it arrived, I noticed that the notch for the slide stop has a worn edge, preventing the slide lock from working correctly, I recall having difficulty of some sort (although it's been a while and I can't recall specifically), where the mag, slide and slide release all locked up together. I even had to resort to dropping the floorplate to try get it all apart. It was a mess. How will I prevent this in the future? I'll go get that slide notch machined to the correct shape so that I don't need to hold up on the slide release.

My Polish Tokarev catches if I insert a magazine with the slide is locked back, same when I hit the magazine release with the slide back. Now if the slide if forward the magazine will slide in no problems and all 4 of my magazines will drop out if I hit the magazine release with no hesitation.

If you watch the Hickok45 video on the Tokarev it looks like he has the same issues inserting a magazine with the slide locked back on the one he's using. I't around the 2 minute mark.

My mags go in slick with the slide open, and with some pressure with it closed. It takes a firm press on the release to get them out, and they do not drop.

I put para cord lanyards on mine to aid in removal.

(I'm still out of action, needing to replace a broken firing pin)
 
I see, so I wasn't the only one having problems inserting a new magazine with the slide open.

Does anyone know how to take out the magazine release so I can clean it or replace the spring?

I did two videos to disassemble/reassemble on TT33, but not the Mag pin, go on YouTube to the videos of "Johnny x"
 
I just got one of these in the mail today...Similar issue with the mag well/mag release...polished the mag release inside the frame,and the mag well itself...Viola,..problem solved..!
 
I took my tok out to the range over the weekend and wow what a snap, had all the kids in the range wondering what was making all that noise. I was having feed issues on the last three rounds of almost every mag inserted? i have read that this might be a problem with the magazine spring but it all looks good to me. I did frog lube the bloody thing, maybe I should go back to grease and oil. any thoughts would be helpful.
 
round looked like it was hung up on the ramp. the slide was 'almost' closed - a good bump with my left and the slide moved forward and the round became fully chambered.
