I'm looking for some details on this gun. This is what I know for sure so far...
The Polish did not make their own version of the SKS, however they did get Russian refurbs and used a really nice laminate stock on them for the Honour Guard. They never used the SKS as a battle rifle, choosing instead to go with the AK.
The one noticeable difference right away is the four slot hand guard on the gas tube. There is also a polished metal butt plate and the bayonet appears polished.
The receiver's again were Russian refurbs. Does anyone know if there was a specific year of refurb that the Poles got? Maybe a late 55 or 56 without any Tula factory markings for a clean look? Or was it a random refurb from any of the years with any possible receiver stamp? On the side of the receiver there was an 11 marked in an oval as well (first pic is a replica marking)
