polished stainless look

Hey Gents, I've got a matte stainless finish on my winchester action that I would like to turn into a polished shinny stainless look. Much like you would see on a rem sendero action. Has anyone done this before. Would a polishing wheel on my bench grinder do the trick? Or is the factory beadblasted finish to deep to polish out?

It's matte for a reason, but SS gets polished just like any other metal. Series of increasingly finer grit followed by the cloth wheel and compounds.

You could certainly polish it, but without lots of experience chances are all the sharp edges would get rolled, and the holes and printing washed out. You would be better served sending it to a guy like Oskar Kob who polishes actions daily - if he would take it on. You would be amazed how much he can do in 1 or 2 hours worth.
