Just finished polishing the bolt on mine the other day and thought some of you might want to have a look.

All I used was black emery compound with a tight weave buffing wheel to strip it and green stainless steel compound to polish it.

I might have gotten better results if I had used a different polishing compound or spent more time smoothing it out with the emery, but I think this was good enough.

I soaked mine in a dish of white vinegar, comes off easy. Then I used Nevr-Dull Wadding polish. Worked well and was easy. I just did the bolt carrier and not the bolt itself. Anyway, vinegar does the trick.

I’ll have to try the vinegar on my other rifle. Still like my buffer for polishing though. This was just a test project.

Never-Dull is amazing at giving that gleaming polished shine on metal surfaces. I use it all the time, heck I used it today on the brass parts of a muzzle loader I'm selling. Figured I should send it out the door looking it best right?
