polishing bolt?

I built a polishing wheel using an old electric motor ( think it was salvaged from a either a washing machine or a furnace fan) and a few hardware store parts, but a 6' or 8' grinder with a polishing wheel on one side would work as well or better. I would like to have a 3500 rpm motor and a proper felt buffing wheel, but for the amount of stuff I do, I get by with my 1750 rpm and 3 or 4 of those cotton polishing wheels clamped on together. You can find buffing compound at most hardware stores. I purchased a "delta" brand kit containing 4 different buffing compound bars a few years ago, and still have most of it left.
 
went to Canadian Tire and Home Depot, couldn't find polishing compound (industrial)
will check home hardware later today

Why does an "old " mauser action need polishing. The old ones I have are pretty slick.

Being through a couple of wars and firing thousands of rounds will polish and action.;)
 
Get a piece of 3/8 wood dowelling, put one end in an electric drill and then make a 1/4 hole in other end, fill with a piece of felt, get some brasso(very fine) or fine valve lapping compound (courser) from princess or CTC apply to felt makes a cheap jewelling set up ie polishing with a circular pattern.
