Polishing Brass in dry tumbler

I use walnut with a small handful of BB's and a couple of Tbsp of chemical guys swirl and scratch remover. Comes out super shiny. Stays shiny even in storage. I decap and size then run them through my tumbler with that mix over night. Stays nice through the reloading process and storage.

I use oil-field walnut fine for media (28 bucks a 50 pound bag). Doesn't plug flash-holes and no dust. For compound I use Nu-finish (Mostly now), Lyman for untreated media, and Dillion. Nu-finish is a good as anything.

I've used the Lyman recharge, and it does work sorta. Thing is, if the process is starting to take longer I've found that it's better to just change the media. Which goes full circle back to buying the big bags cheap.

After reading this thread, I went to Canadian Tire and purchased a bottle of NU Finish (orange bottle of liquid).:d I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.:d

Hello all,

I want to dry tumble my handloads with crushed walnut, is there any additives or polish that I can add for that extra shine?

Cheers!

Lyman has a polish formula that works great with walnut that is cheap. I drop a little bit after every 10-12 runs, no complaints past 15-20 years that I've been using it...
