Polishing chambers in a 20 gauge

Any one know where I could find info on polishing the chambers of the 20 gauge stogger coach gun my wife shoots for cowboy action? I was thinking of coating a bore mop with laping compound or filtz metal polish and using a drill at about 300-400rpm but thought I should ask before I start.

wrap 0000 steel wool around a brush and add some oil and have at her with a drill
Keep the drill moving all the time back and forth the whole length of the chamber
it will be mirror shinny when done

Then finish it off with your posted idea and clean thoroughly......that chamber ought to be slicker than snot on a rooster's beak when you're done.....

I have used Flitz on a bore mop in a cordless drill to polish chambers on a 22 caliber revolver. It worked quite well, first removing crud that was embedded in the steel, bluing, and then polishing the metal. Total polishing time by drill was about 1 minute per chamber.

Try rapping some cloth around the bore mop for the first couple of runs because it will get dirty quite quickly. You can change to clean cloths for finish polishing.

I have also polished reloading dies using this method.

Steel wool will not polish the chamber as it is softer than the barrel steel but it will remove accumulated crud.
