Polishing metal

Hello, what are some of the methods to polish a Mosin Nagant bolt metal (or any other bolt for that matter) to nice shiny gleam? The bolt of my Mosin Nagant 91/30 seems dull, matte and tarnished and I want to make it shiny and sparkling. I saw some pictures here and there so I was hoping this is possible to restore my Mosin's bolt as well. Thanks for any advice!

Flitz metal polish, they make a "regular" and an anti-tarnish version, follow the instructions. It'll make the bolt easier to clean in future too.

0000 Steel wool and Brasso polishing compound will do the trick.

I have a brass wheel on the bench grinder...that and metal polish will work wonders,..but if the bolts patina matches the rifle I'd leave it alone...
