Wrong. Bullpup _stocks_ are illegal. Bullpup guns, as long as the gun can't be made to fire without the stock, are legal.

I'll let someone else quote the part of the legislation that applies.

*ahem* *tap* *tap*
From Regulations Prescribing Certain Firearms and other Weapons, Components and Parts of Weapons, Accessories, Cartridge Magazines, Ammunition and Projectiles as Prohibited or Restricted
PROHIBITED DEVICES

Former Prohibited Weapons Order, No. 9

1. Any electrical or mechanical device that is designed or adapted to operate the trigger mechanism of a semi-automatic firearm for the purpose of causing the firearm to discharge cartridges in rapid succession.

2. Any rifle, shotgun or carbine stock of the type known as the "bull-pup" design, being a stock that, when combined with a firearm, reduces the overall length of the firearm such that a substantial part of the reloading action or the magazine-well is located behind the trigger of the firearm when it is held in the normal firing position.
That would be what nixes the bullpup stock.

There is no mention in the regulations about bullpups generally.

Considering that there are non-restricted bullpup guns in the FRT database I'd say that they are not prohibited.

Considering I've got a non-restricted bullpup rifle and registration certificate therefore, I'd tend to agree. ;)

Can I get a list of the non-restricted bullpups?

I'll second that, also, why was the Walther precision rifle (WA2000?) banned? Near as I can figure, there is absolutely no reason why it should be. I would save my money for a long time, and I would need to, to buy one of those fine rifles.

Just 2 examples I can think of.

AUG is prohibited. I think someone tried to get the Bushy bullpup and was stonewalled. I don't know why. Cause Customs said so? I would so much like my dream bullpup.......G2.

Bullpups aren't all that great.....try shooting one from your weak side.

Try shooting the AUG or FAMAS when you convert direction of ejection.

Being a bullpup, the FA MAS can be modified to fire from either shoulder. To change the FA MAS from right- to left-hand ejection, withdraw the bolt head after removing its notched retaining pin on top of the bolt body, insert the extractor into the left side of the bolt head and the dummy plug into the right side. The extractor will now spin empty cases out to the left. Nothing else is required for left-hand ejection, other than to snap the cheekpiece onto the right side of the buttstock.

You are correct about the L85.

Perhaps a silly question....Why are bullpups not cool with the government? What about them is more dangerous than any other rifle? Other than the usual 'looks scary, lets ban it.'

Not a factor with the bottom ejection of the P90 design.

Here's a question, if some one made a bullpup lower reciever for an AR15, or AR180B for that matter, they would be legal, would they not?

Logically you would think so. Because the reciever is what they consider to be the "firearm".
