Polizei Pistols

I noticed on my trip to Munchen last September that the 'beat cops' in the downtown core [Marienplatz] walked in pairs, but ony seemed to have a plain belt with some kind of single stack pistol in the holster. :eek: No evidence of a spare mag [or any other equipment, like handcuffs, for that matter]....although they did have portable radios....

Depends where you are in Germany - as different regions have different guns
IIRC P-5, P-6 (SigP225) and P-7 where the issued guns. For a brief while after unification some P-1's where issued to the newly integrated Easterners. (No idea what happened then)

Thats what I saw, a pair of cops wearing P7's, which are likely the single stack pistol you saw. I didn't see if they were carrying a spare mag or not.

Okay, pistols aside.... what I wouldn't give for a nice ice cold 'halbe' of Hacker-Pshorr right now.... ;) :D

Maybe on the belt behind or in the Pocket. I saw them for at least 35 years.
Yes its right each of the 16 Provinces ( Bavaria, BadenWürttemberg, Berlin,) has their own buyer and each Province make their own decision what kind of Pistol they will carry.
So what are you doing in Munich ? You are just 100 Km west from my house and from the Royal Bavarian shooting Range of 1590.
Too bad Iàm not there now, wants to invite you for a coffe/beer and a shooting contest on the range.
Have a nice vacation there eat a "weisswurst" and a "Mass" Beer.

I'll have a beer for you guys this afternoon but I draw the line at Weisswurst.

We went to Kloster Andechs a couple of days ago to eat and drink. It was excellent but then seeing as they have been brewing beer there for 550 years they should be pretty good at it now.

I am in Europe on vacation for a couple of more days and then back to Canada. We are staying with friends just north of Garmisch. We tried to get up into the Alps yesterday but the weather sucked. We did take a tour of Schloss Linderhoff though which was quite interesting as it really gave an insight into the mind of a complete nutcase.

We are off to Dachau today to have a look into the mind of another nutcase.
