My point is what difference does the type of gun make, you pulled a gov't by declaring whether or not a gun should be allowed to be advertised based on your opinion on how competitive it is in your chosen sport. It's an asinine comment to make, either the ads can be put here or not, what it is does not come into it.
Maybe we should change this to the Competition Only forum, that way people who shoot IPSC, IDPA or other action games for fun will know not to come in here as we won't discuss "regular" guns

ok so then explain to me the premise behind advertising a pistol in here but not in thier own dealer forum or even the pistol forum ;) ;)

the one that gets me is they did not even PUT it anywhere in their dealer forum... no where, not a breath.... so what about the people who never come in here and only surf the pistol or dealer forums ? you got to say but I believe the pistol forum gets 5x the traffic this one does,

I agree completely, like I said this should primarily be about whether advertising is allowed here or not...not the specifics of what is "competitive"
My personal belief is that all advertising should be kept to the dealers section and not bleed into the others at all. However apparantly the individual advertising that particular pistol felt he would make the most sales in Action not handguns and since it is currently allowed, it's up to the dealer to figure out where he'll draw the most attention.
Lol....of course it is probably getting all kinds of attention now because of this thread, so I'd say he won all the way around!

I had no idea what sparked this poll...and then I found the thread.

Totally justified in posting it here! It's a new product announcement.

Somebody....please...bet me some primer money that a G22 is not a competitive/practical gun.

I happen to believe it's quite capable.

:)

Welcome to canadiangunnutz...

I will show you it is not competitive (It's practical, though)

Show up at a range with it. Then let me hand you a CZ Shadow, Tanfoglio Stock II, STI GP6, STI Edge or an SVI Infinity (Since you're in 40 cal there and shooting major); all guns designed for competition.
Not only will I shoot those 5 better than your (and I've got one too - my ) Glock - You will too.

Honesty, if you think a G22 is competitive, then why is there no one shooting one at the US Limited, US Production or Limited 10 Nationals?

Lol...given that Flex made USPSA GM class shooting Glocks, I know who I'm putting my money on...
He would have got there sooner with a CZ, STI or Tanfoglio...;):D

AND I didn't say I'd beat him - I said he'd be better - just like I'm better without a glick...

OK.

Bring the pink slips for those guns.

I've run a number of Level III matches. I've been the chrono-man at a handful of Majors (getting to shoot everybody's guns). I've worked as CRO at a countless number of other Majors. Except for the GP6, I have handled/shot the best examples of all the guns you have mentioned...usually out of the hands of the Grand Master that is championing that brand and make...

I have yet to see a particular gun win a match. I have seen some lose a match...because they wouldn't run...but, I've never seen gun win a match. What I see is...shooter performance. You have all seen it too. When I come off the line after a great (or crappy) example of executing a run on a cof...the talk isn't about the gun.

The biggest place that I see the gun making a difference...is...well, it's not in the matches.

There are shooters...at all levels and matches...running the G17/22 sized guns. They prefer them.
