And I've bolded the one that I think is very important(depending on your job/hobby sport) and can usually get overlooked.
Catching on a cover garment doesn't just mean when you're drawing the gun, it also means in day-to-day wear, getting up from a chair or out of a car. If your cover garment sticks to the gun printing or exposing it because of the texture, or grip material, then it's time to rethink things.
On topic, I haven't touched the new gun yet. I think much like the finger grooves, it's going to be personal preference. As far as how the slide serrations look, I'm a believer in function over form. If they work better, I don't care if they don't have the traditional straight or slanted design.

I handled the new Glock as well and didn't like it at all! I didn't know it was possible but it's even uglier then the 3.5 gen. 
Thers is no way I'd find the grip 'stuble' comfortable after few mags down the pipe...And does anyone else find the grip seration 'bows' backwards? I'm sure they would offer more slip resistance if they were facing the other way.

I totally agree man, and 2 to 3 mags is a lot of shooting.
That can mess up your hands.
We don't pay for manicure and spa treatments just to have shooting a couple mags make us uncomfortable after, do we men....???
What where they thinking building a combat pistol like that.
Maybe the Austrian designers simply made it too tough for soft handed shooters all because of all the publicity "Bruno" was getting for the country.

This thread was started in order to discuss what people's 'opinions' were on the new RTF2 Glock (for range/competition use... since that is all we here in Canada can use it for), not it's validity as a duty weapon.
Having better grip on the pistol when it is covered in blood, or using gloves really does nothing for me. It was damn hot when I checked out the RTF2 and my hands were very sweaty, and again, I found it hard to decide which gave me a better grip. With skateboard tape, your hand is locked in place fairly well, and doesn't move much. If your hand stays put, the tape doesn't have much of a chance of scraping the skin of your hand. But since the RTF2 texture is not as aggressive as skateboard tape, your hand STILL slips.... and while it is slipping the stippling is scraping your hand.

yyyyy, you're right Austrian designers and Guston can't come up with something that isn't totally awesome, scratch that, sacred! and no one is allowed to dispute the greatness of their creation because nothing else come close and no matter how bad it is real man can get used to it...
