Only time i have been checked was at an antelope check station. they took a tooth, scored the goat, and sent me on my way. Oh and once, i went through an RCMP checkstop with the 20 ga on the passenger seat. He had me prove it empty, then wished me luck on my hunting season and told me to have a nice day.

I have never been checked either.
I suppose it is one of those things that will happen someday, but not yet.

I'm not really worried about it when it does happen though. To the best of my knowledge I don't do/have anything that would get me in trouble anyway...

every year i get checked, the CO's like to set up a roadblock on one of the FSR's that access my favourite muley spot. they check: hunting licence, gun is unloaded, and no 3 point or less muley in the back of truck.

i wish they were around more, especially during the gong show that is elk season.

COs rarely......Park Rangers, usually once or twice a year. Glad to see them out there protecting our valuable fish and wildlife resources.

...and most of the time I have, the CO was a full-patch a$$hole!

i don't recall ever having any unpleasant dealings with the CO. they always seem profession and friendly.

forgot to mention, i have seen them many times while fishing classified waters.

I voted "once in a blue moon"

Havent been checked for about 4 years now.

In 1997 I was checked at least 6 or 7 times. I was feeling harassed by the end of that season. Always looking over my shoulder.

Prior to 1997, only once.

A group of us (4) talked to a C.O. way back in the middle of nowhere a few years ago. He just asked if we all had licences and was satisfied with our "yes" answers without asking to see them. He was back there to make sure no one was using a motorized vehicle on the closed logging road. This year we were stopped on the way into a different hunt area by the OPP who just wanted to make sure our guns weren't loaded (they were all encased so that was enough for them) and our beer wasn't open. They were sure fascinated by the 50 can boxes of beer in the back of the truck though and wanted to know where we picked them up (its a Quebec Costco specialty :)).

I got checked this season for the very first time while pheasant hunting. First time in over 15 years.
He checked my hunting license, my small game township license, checked to see if my plug was in my shotgun and asked me if I knew what the limit was.

Thanks, take care, bye bye

eastern ontario, never been checked. I hunt almost every weekend from sept-dec. and any time I have during the week. This has either been hunting on my own or tagging along with my dad(since I was 5ish) so about 17-18 yrs.

Usually meet up with a CO once a year. Most often it is the same CO, and most often in some remote area where you wouldn't expect to meet anyone. We usually have a pleasant chat while he checks the paperwork.

And here I thought NB was the only province with a sadly inadequate amount of game law enforcement....seems to be the status quo across the country???In 30+ years of avidly hunting/fishing/trapping(100 days/year on avg.??)I could probably count the number of times I've been checked on one hand, and only then on heavily travelled access roads, boat landing etc.
