So, what do people like as a finish on their handguns? I'm partial to stainless steel. Nothing to wear off, not hard to keep clean.

My SP-01 has a black polymer finish, though since it's just a safe queen at the moment, I have no idea how it'll hold up compared to blueing or parkerizing or any other treatments that are available.

I also think any wear that does occur through normal use adds character.. or at least that's what I keep telling myself so I don't go "AUGH!" when it starts to wear :)

Definately Stainless! Kick myself everytime I see a stainless Beretta. I always think I shoulda waited to find a stainless one than the blued one I bought.

I own enough blue, parkerized and koted firearms to really appreciate stainless. Easy to clean and minor scratches are viturally invisible.

Depends on the gun. Beretta INOX is beautiful. Not sure that I would agree when it comes to the Sig Stainless. SP01 looks darn good in black.

It's hard to say; "parkerizing" is a very broad category encompassing any kind of phosphate coating. Some forms are quite rough, and will mark visibly with a little effort. Some are very smooth ("TRW black", etc) and are quite hard to mark. All are very durable functionally.

Which finish I prefer depends on the kind of handgun. Autos should be blued, darkly parked, or some other dark finish. Wheel guns should be satin stainless, like my GP100. ;)

Edit: I can't believe nickel is even on the poll. It might look good when new, but it's just not very durable, and it totally looks like ass when it starts to flake.
