Sorry guys, I added the Rigby Highland Stalker.
That would be my vote.
Sorry guys, I added the Rigby Highland Stalker.
Currently looking at a higher end rifle, from your list I think the Dakota 10, I intend to go and handle, a highland stalker, this summer, and am trying to find a Dokata 76 and a new Mauser 98, to handle, and get a feel for rifle.
Problem with most of these high end guns, is so few about, but it's a fair bit of coin to drop, without getting a hands on look, for fit,
Also considering, a second double rifle, just priced up a Fair hammer double, in 7x64 and 20 ga barrels. Going to price up a Merkel, 141.
Of that list, the model 10.
I guess I will have to contact him via email or telephone for his price list, pending what I want. I first checked Ralf Martini, man his prices skyrocketed, so that's a no-go. My second choice was Chris Griesbach, must contact him as well for prices. Then again, just go off the shelf from the list in my first post.
That would be my vote.
I should add, I wouldnt order one, I would watch gunbroker/gunsamerica/gunsinternational and buy one that’s ready made. You often see them with many upgrades selling for considerably less than the equivalent would cost to order - plus you get to see the wood.
Since so many are ignoring the op and adding different rifles to the mix, also consider buying a hagn barreled action, sending the action to Oskar Kob, the barrel out for hot caustic and have someone like Davidson stock it for you. You will be very close to the #10 but with a nicer action.
If Ralph’s prices cause pain then D’Arcy’s will really hurt.![]()
Recently, I've been hammering Gun Broker, Guns America, Guns International websites.........they have them! A Dakota 76 with outstanding Turkish walnut chambered for the 300 H&H, I would of purchased right away, but a 23" barrel, no thanks. There is only one Dakota 76 in Canada that I know of, but not what I want for cartridge.
Blaser R8. I have the "Professional Success" model in 7 mm Rem Mag with black fiberglass stock with runner inserts and Zeiss scope on quick detachable mounts. Superb German precision craftsmanship combined with 1 MOA accuracy. Also a huge selection of calibers using interchangeable barrels from .223 Rem to .500 Jeffery. Barrels can be delivered with our without sights and fluting; and in light, medium or heavy weight. Every Blaser rifle can be a custom off the shelf hunter or shooter.

So there's my real answer to the $10,000 question, find an original 1905-1939 Mauser actioned British sporting rifle from Rigby, WR, or H&H and actually use it as intended. Hand it to your kids where it keeps gaining value, or sell it for 25% more than you paid in five years when you bore of it. They're not making any more of them.
I don't know how to do the "poll" thing...
Creating and Participating in Polls
You may notice that some threads on this forum also include a section where you can vote on an issue or question. These threads are called 'polls'.
How do I create a new poll?
When you post a new thread, you may also have the option to create a poll.
This allows you to ask a question and specify a number of possible responses. Other members will then be able to vote for the response they wish, and the results of the voting will be displayed in the thread.
An example poll might be:
What is your favorite color?
Red
Blue
Yellow
Green
Sky-blue
Pink with yellow spots
To create a poll when you post a new thread, simply click the 'Yes, post a poll with this thread' checkbox at the bottom of the page, and set the number of possible responses you want to include.
When you click the submit button, you will be taken to the poll creation page, where you can specify the question and the list of responses you want to include.
You may also want to specify a time limit for the poll, so that (for example) it stays open for voting for only a week.
How do I vote in a poll and view the results?
To vote in a poll, simply select which option you want to vote for, and click the 'Vote!' button. Sometime you can choose more than one option. You can see the current results for a poll before you vote by clicking the 'View Results' link. Voting in a poll is entirely optional. You may vote for any of the available options, or cast no vote at all.
Note whether or not a poll is a public poll. If it is, any votes you cast will be attributable to you.
Generally, once you have voted in a poll, you will not be able to change your vote later, so place your vote carefully!

Compared to what can be had in North America, the Highland Stalker is gross. Not even in the same league.

I'm sure one could find a nice 6.5CM with fiberglass stock for less.
