I finally broke down & bought a new "Poly" from Epps a couple months ago.
Included was two mags 1-five rounder cut down , 1- fullsize 20 converted to five.
Since then, a few buds have purchased these from elsewhere with NO 5/20 mags included. Looks like the same manufactured gun , & cutout spot in the box for the mag & all .

Anyone know the reason why no 5/20 mag ?

I got 2 5 round mags and a 5\20 when I purchased one that was originally bought from Marstar. Same reason why some VZ-858s come with 4 mags and some with 2 I guess.

Yeah, Stevo is precisely correct. I bought mine from Milarm, and the reason that I didn't get the 5/20 mag is that they took it out of the box and put it on there store shelf so that it could be sold seperately. I was made aware of that upfront so I suppose I can't #####.. but I'll buy from Marstar and pay for shipping out to Alberta in the future, just on principle.

What is up with that mil-arm company any way? I mean that most items I have seen on there web site are considerably less on our dealer's web sites. Do they just like to gouge or is it a tax thing?

So, it's not a case of -- " the mags were not allowed in by the gov'ment , cause they were improperly pinned " -- as a bud of mine was told !

Make you wonder why it makes any sense so to support "local dealers".
Even giving the "local" the benefit of a doubt ---someone is in a mag that'll be for sale later. -- Nice touch!!

There was a thread on this not long ago basically accusing dealers of stripping parts from a package and selling them seperately to increase profits. Several dealers replied stating that while this may be the case in some instances, more often than not it is because they ordered a different package from a different supplier for less money IIRC.

Yes, Phil of P&D in Edmonton did a very good job of explaining this phenomenon and I believe him 100% since I've never been lead astray by the Man or his business. With P&D's pricing for the units when they had them in stock, it was fair not to have a 5/20 included with the rifle; the savings were reflected in the retail price.

However, some local yokols may be ripping you off under the same guise - as always, caveat emptor: look at the fine print of what you're getting with the rifle, and what you're not, and decide whether it's a square deal or not.

Thats a PITA.
I purchased my Poly M14 a while back and it only came with 1 5 round magazine ( the mag is a 5 rounder but for some reason it holds 6 rounds? )
I wanted to get the 5/20 rounders as it is sometimes hard to get the 5 rounders out of the gun and the 5/20's are much easier to grab a hold of.

Unfortunately this happens...what is worse is the excuses (lies you get)

As far as Mil-Arm goes, with a store like P&D in the city why the hell would anyone shop there? Is it for the snotty attitudes and high prices? Absolutely without a doubt the last place I look for anything.

missing mag

mil-arms is not the only one doing it, and then they selling back to you for 40 plus dollars. 100% profit for thses no so nice dealers.

Can I get an AMEN for that?! Christ I hate Milarm.

Was in today and saw that they (Milarm) was selling those disgusting looking 'camo' stocks for the M305 for $240! HA! They could not sell them on the rifles, so they took them off, put the guts into one of those big aluminum rails that they sell to the people with a tactical fetish, and now they want to sell the stocks for half the price of a complete new rifle. Best of luck with that.

I got my M14 from Milarm at 525, while P&D was selling it for over 600 I think. Although your right about the service...terrible. I'll never go back

Marstar sold most Norinco pistols with one magazine only while the same guns I bought from Frontier came in with 2. Although I paid some extra bucks, I got free shipping and one more magazine.
