I was googling for traditional K31 magazine chargers when I came across this:

They're being made by a company in the States called Northridge Inc. I'm really hoping and praying this works out because these would be amazing.

On "that other website" a guy has a bunch of new OEM chargers for $15 each. While neat to have, its the type of rifle that I shoot slowly and deliberately, hand loading the detachable mag doesn't seen like a great burden.

Under normal circumstances, I would agree. But I was thinking of using mine in the one service rifle shoot I do in a year, and the rules at that shoot would make single loading a definite drawback. You have to start from an empty rifle, load, make 10 aimed shots, in under 2 minutes per course of fire. Courses of fire are between 100-400 meters.

2 minutes is a long time to get 10 aimed shots off. With chargers, I can usually do it in about 30-40 seconds. But single loading? Yes, I could do it, but it would put extra time pressure on me that I would prefer to avoid.

p.s. I expect to place near the bottom of the turned in scores regardless, but that doesn't mean I don't want to put some effort into it. Mostly, it's just a fun couple of days in the foothills, and a chance to see a lot of vintage rifles in action.

I found chargers a bit challenging with scope. I bought a few chargers and will have to put some on EE shortly. Mags are better suited for scoped IMO.
