I beleive that CanAmmo is talking about steel mags.
The will be 30 round profile, pinned to 5.5 (one would hope)

Does the 858 not seat a mag with 5 rounds in it on a closed bolt?
Or does it have to be 5.5 like like the Armalite system....

No, since HK has it tied up tight. Very few users and they buy direct. HK knows how to play the game.

Will something like ranger plates or magpulls be available for these steel ones? Would make grabbing a mag from a tac vest SOOO much easier.
