Well... what are our options now? I have a 75$ deposit on one from April and have not received. I don't want it now that it has to be registered. Will you be accepting cancelations?

Oh the RCMP sprung this little memo on us today:

80% lowers are now considered firearms even if you don't complete the build.
Oh we got them memo, same as every other distributor / deal in the country. Wonderful way of starting the day.

No kidding! Thanks for the replys and the option of getting a refund.
Unfinished lower is prohibited now! By law of the RCMP! Once finished you have to stamp a serial# on them and report it, so the transfer would be as normal,, but how do you get from unfinished prohib to finished restricted! Basically cannot, so they can't be sold anymore, unless you have a prohib PAL with block of aluminum stamped on your card!As these kits do not have a serial number and the RC's now consider them a firearm, how would a person go about the purchase and transfer of ownership? If it is classified as Restricted, transfer is required yes? Not just being in possession of an RPAL to purchase?

Nope, so far, just lowers and a zillion other blocks of metal!Poly 80 Glock frames aren't.
I guess my question is how will Questar transfer Poly 80 Glock frames when they don't even have a serial number?
Somewhat rhetorical I guess as I'm sure our overlords don't care about the challenges they have created through their ridiculous interpretation.
You are absolutely correct in someones concern about any challenges that we as an industry are going to have to deal with.
As far as transfering an 80%, we'll use the FIN. The FIN or Firearms Identification Number is a number the RCMP gives each registered firearm. Each FIN is unique and each 80% will be registered (if required, non-restricted's don't) as a frame/receiver only. Which means no barrel length or calibre is associated with it.

And will be starting as of next shipment aka now ?
Please let us know if the "new registration" requirement results in a direct drop on sales. I presume it will effect sales adversely, which precisely is the point to bring that into effect.
Honestly there is no 'NEW' registration requirements. The only thing that's really changed is when the regestration needs to take place. The '80% lowers' have always needed to be regesitered (restriced anyways) once you got to a point in the 'manufacturing' process. Of course it has negatively affected sales. If you had ordered one of these and had planned on doing to it what it is intened for the only thing that's changed is when a number is added to it. So, nothing really.
Yes this is a another sad, sad day for firearms owners in Canada and I hate to say we are likely to have more to come.
