Polymer80 COMPACT kits now available for pre-order

I can't say I agree that nothing has changed, seeing that they indicated the AR 80% lowers are prohib right out of the gate.

Youza.
Yea they didnt think that through, as an80% block it is probib be ause someone could possibly turn it into fa, and if you complete it then it is redtricted of course only if it is semi! So the onlyfolks who could buyan 80% lower would be a person with aprohib lisence. If there was away to mill the lower to 80% that would preclude it from ever becoming fa then they would have to clasify it as restricted,,, i think!

Basically imposing a pirate version of the UN marking convention on chunks of plastic and metal - achieving zero reduction in crime and otherwise creating criminals of honest people overnight; all while penalizing responsible businesses who've made investments for a product that is already under legislated requirements if it becomes a completed and actual firearm.

... And people were comparing Harper to a dictator ??? ... at least the Cons are firearm, heritage, and sport friendly. The liberals have accomplished absolutely nothing as a government other than racking debt, penalizing Canadians, and further revoking our freedoms - all while catering to vote buying special interest groups and foreign 'donations'.
I can't wait till they flip this incompetent bunch of losers aside, can't happen soon enough.

I guess vendors better start dropping the price on 80% "firearms" now... Cause nobody's gonna buy them.

What a fcuking joke the RCMP are. Makes my head spin, how nonsensical they are...

I think the importers are screwed because the guns are much cheaper with a fully complete receiver and both have all the same problems.

You are absolutely correct in someones concern about any challenges that we as an industry are going to have to deal with.

As far as transfering an 80%, we'll use the FIN. The FIN or Firearms Identification Number is a number the RCMP gives each registered firearm. Each FIN is unique and each 80% will be registered (if required, non-restricted's don't) as a frame/receiver only. Which means no barrel length or calibre is associated with it.

ok, might be a stupid question but i'm going for it.. your not going to open up the box and add a physical serial number to the actual 80% lower, just add a fin number associated with it attaching the ownership of it to the buyer and once its being built the buyer they add their own serial number.. right?

Let say one has a pre-order placed and need to cancel, will there be cancellation fee ?

If you have an order for one of the Polymer80 or 1911 builder frame kits and can't accept the order you can cancel it without any fees. Full refund or you can apply your deposit as a crdit towards something else if you wish.

I still want a couple of these... do we have the ability to proceed with a sale or is this on hold for a bit??
Just thinking if others are backing out there may be some available. .

You can order as many as you'd like. We've updated our site to require a PAL when ordering them but they're still for sale.

Not a stupid question at all. We will not be putting any S/N on these. Only the required FIN which the RCMP provide when we regester them. Once you manufacture it you'll add the serial number and let the RCMP know.

Questar,

are you aware of an action by canadian retailers and/or manufacturers of AR15 80% lowers who will take this issue to court to have a judge review the RCMP's opinion that these objects are prohibited?

Youza.

I cannot say as we are aware of any such action. There has been a lot of talk about this recent turn of events but nothing concrete that we've been made aware of.

...the only thing that's changed is when a number is added to it. So, nothing really.

Scott

What about buying one (80% pistol lower) ? If nothing has changed then I don't need to provide proof of RPAL ?

* EDIT - thought so... What a crock of :bsFlag: !

It's NOT a firearm, I shouldn't be required to provide ANY info except maybe my C/C.

What next, PAL to buy brass/projectiles ? They're "going to be" ammunition...

(I'm not blaming or getting mad @ Questar)

If you have one on order and don't have the required PAL of course we'll cancel the order...

The RCMP have specified that we are required to confirm your legal ability to own this class of (what will become a functioning firearm) at the time of purchase. Basically making the purchase of the 80% recevier / frames no different than buying a firearm. So you would need to provide your PAL info at the time of purchase.

The RCMP have deemed it TO be a firearm and are requiring the imports to regester them and apply the FIN number to them.

So until this position is challanged we have no choice but to follow the rules........

Im not a Glock guy, but Im planning on building one. These compact models take Glock 19 parts correct? And if so, do you guys carry everything to complete them?
