I think this is where this should be posted. I have a m&p15-22 where the extractor fell out while firing and was lost. Reading the forums it seems to be a common problem and covered under warantee. I called S&W customer support and was told it is covered under warantee, but as Im in canada they couldnt do anything and directed me to the 2 warantee centers. I submitted my serial number for warentee work to be done and was told Id have to wait 4-6 weeks for parts.... That was early november... Its now almost april and I still dont have this repaired, but am told the parts were ordered in November. I have not recieved any answers to emails from both the service center in canada nor S&W in the last couple of months. No communication is never a good sign.Anyone know how I could get these parts (extractor, extractor pin, and extractor spring)? Also has anyone else had issue getting their S&W repaired?

Hey, sorry to hear about your problem. I've noticed that due to us being in Canada, our warantee is less than what we would like it to be. My solution to this was to purchase only from dealers with a satisfaction guarantee/no BS warantee policy. I have been dealing with Wolverine as an example for a while now and every time I've had an issue, it was handled within days, all over the counter, or we'll get that for you in no time. I have not had any experience with S&W myself, but I did have a number of issues with SIG, who's CS is also apparently lacking in Canada. My advice for next time is like I said, purchase from a dealer who will stand behind everything they sell. Hope this helps!

Thanks TK-Hryciuk..... Good advice. I think Ive basically given up on S&W and their service guys in canada. Now Im either trying to find the part to purchase, if I can or manufacture it myself, if I find the time (and right sized spring). On the plus side, the gun doesnt seem affected much by not having the extractor, only a FTE every 100-150rds, which isnt bad considering.

I've found that I'll buy a firearm, and if I like it after firing it X amount of times, I'll order parts for it in advance, so I'm not stuck waiting 2 years down the road when say my firing pin or extractor desides to go. We can usually get all the parts we need up here, just that our wait times are greatly increased.

Figured if I can purchase the parts (or make them), Ill puchase/make multiple.... If it happened once it can happen again
