Good Day, fellow CGN'rs.

I'm a first time poster here. I recently got back into handguns by purchasing a lightly used Norinco NP58 in 40S&W. Its an enjoyable and reasonably accurate shooter for the price, but I find that I get an uncontrollable amount of muzzle climb. Even with the serrated trigger guard I can't hold the barrel down well enough to quickly get any kind of accurate 2nd shot off. The internet says that the Norinco is an exact copy of the Sig P226 except for the sight groove so... Would a ported Sig P226 barrel in 40 cal be a drop in swap. And, where is the best source for one in Canada. Unless there is a cheaper option.

Thanks All,

The Norcs are pretty close to being a copy. As i understand it, you'll need to do a little trimming near the barrel (lug?) or whatever that part is called near the chamber. At least that's what it takes to fit the 22 kit.

I recently got NP58 as well and shot is on the weekend for the first time. I didn't mind the recoil but it was a little snappy. IMO esp if you're new to it (or new again) just keep practice work on your grip and the lock your wrists.

or trade it for 9mm NP22 or NP34 lol I have the second one and its a great little gun.
