Anyone have experience with a Winchester Model 70 made in Portugal? Apparently that is where they're made now.

Made in USA, shipped to Portugal for Assembly, then shipped back to USA for distribution......... Makes sense
It obviously does or they wouldn't do it.
On an American forum I recently saw reviews range from un-American communist garbage that should be banned from the country to more pragmatic and knowledgeable riflemen saying that the fit and finish appears notably better than the most recent 100% American made rifles.

I've read a number of reports saying the Portuguese guns are nearly indistinguishable from the SC ones.

Why would it they are still made in the USA. They make everything in the states then send it to Portugal for assembly then send em back to the USA.
If you could tell the difference do you really think FN would let it slide?
