Okay so ive been tossing this idea around since i saw my very first VZ 58, Ill try to find a shop that will be willing to help out or just try myself
I have this beautiful quilted Mahogany i was going to build a guitar out of but now my focus has changed and i wanted your thoughts

i do have some fears about the hand guard splitting from heat.....

the pics don't really do the wood justice

Dude, don't waste that wood on a VZ. I'm an amateur accoustic guitar builder myself and that kind of stuf is getting hard to find. Look for a nice piece of walnut or maple. You can make that mahogany stretch a long way on a couple of nice electric guitar builds and have enough left over for some custom knife handles. It would make some really nice book matched tops. If you do hack into it for a VZ stock pm me and I will buy the remaining off cuts

if you think this is nice you should have seen my wicked quilted purpleheart, i was hoping to use this due to the natural red hue in the wood that really turns my crank for the russian reds
