mounted all the above and was shooting yesterday, but the adjustment is all the way down and left to get the reticle centered on target. so my question is how can i mount the scope so the adjustment knobs are in the middle of the range and the reticle centered in target. sorry if i am not using correct terms, it is my first scope and scoped rifle. if i was fixing a car, i would get my grinder and modify the mount, but i was hoping there are other ways.

thank you.

Happy.

you can see, once the adjustments are done the reticle is not centered and there is no more room to adjust if it needs to be.

The reticle isn't centered on these scopes. It moves with the adjustment.
This is why they take great care in fitting the mount first to center the scope neutral before any elevation adjustments.
That scope is OK.
I'm afraid you'll have to recenter the scope and work on the mount to get it on target.
Good luck!

Damn that sucks. Should have guessed the Ruskies would do things different. If the stickies in the battle rifle forum about scope mounts don't give you the info you need try sending a PM to Hungry maybe he has a suggestion for you.

Actually you could probably send an email to Ron Smith and he might even be able to give you some suggestions. After all he made the mount.

i reinstalled the scope mounts by the smith instructions this time, but the way i marked how it was before it went on exact same way, does anyone use a laser pointer round to mount scopes/mounts, does it work good ?

thank you.
