POSP scopes

I'm thinking about picking up the long rail and a 4x24B from Interammo, but since it's the AK style, it will sit a bit higher. I was hoping to get the SVD style with the 400m range finder. 1000m seems a bit much. Do they both need deflectors, or will the casings squeak by the higher AK style? (I can easily make a deflector though, so that's not much of an issue). Which is more comfortable? Anyone have experience with both?

I have the AK style mount with the scope 4x24BM, sit a bit higher but still work very well. I have the Ak rail but i will install the long rail soon as i get my cz back from Rauch Tactical. I will make a deflector too since cases hit the scope, the scope can take cases hit but the finish will suffer over time.
