Possible challenges with a 20 MOA Picatinny rail on a bolt action?

Looking for opinions from those who have used Picatinny rails on bolt actions that are 20 MOA.

I understand the need for a 20 MOA rail for long distance shooting, but if my shooting is a max of 500 yards (I use a .223 on rodents) and use a 100 to 200 yard zero, will I run into problems with running out of scope adjustment?

My rifle is a Savage .223 Hog Hunter with a 20 inch medium contour barrel, and I typically shoot around 300 yards with it.

Thoughts?

Thanks

My rifle came with a flat full length rail, depending on your scope's elevation you should be OK. My scope has 30 mrad of elevation, but with a flat rail I only have 14.9 mrad remaining. Luckily that 14.9 mrad is well over 1000m (for 308 win).

Okay I just needed an extended rail as I need to move my 13" scope rearward as I have metal sights as well. I did try a Weaver rail non Picatinny, but there is not much clearance for top loading rounds. As well I will need a 20mm rail when I upgrade to a MDT chassis.

My biggest concern was not being able to zero at 100 yards or 200 yards, as I am still trying to determine the best zero for 55 grain ammo.

Thanks
