Possible coyote bounty in ON ($100 !!)

At that price they will have guys from other provinces flying in carcases by the container......

Yeah, I think they are still working out the details, but I'm pretty sure you would have to be a county resident to claim it, and they may re-imburse people on their tax bills...So if you brought one to me to turn in, I wouldn't see the $$ till next tax term...

Some groups here shoot 75-100 per year...Its nothing to put the dogs in a bush and push out 5 or 10 coyotes at a time...

$100 a dog is a lot of money.

I am sure many members here would do it for less or free for that matter - just bullets and gas. :D:D:D

Wow, If that is the case Coyotes are going to be extinct in that area.

The $20 bounty In Sask is plenty.

If they go forth with this what a way to make money. Only if you can submit an unlimited number of carcasses. You could quit work for a month and make $2-400 bucks a day.

Here in N. Ontario there are lots of yotes and wolfs too. But we must pay for a tag to shoot one and then pay again for a second tag to shoot another - that's it - not allowed to shoot any more till the next year rolls around.

Now that's just too much BS for me so I haven't bothered hunting them here at all. But I used to call yotes in the winter when I lived in S. Ontario. Maybe (?) I will pony up and take it up again. But I just don't like paying for a tag to shoot a varmint. Be tempted to quit my day job at $100 bounty per.

Simcoe County used to pay 25.00 , coupled with 25.00 from my old home township it made for some gas and dog food money (1981). Then the tree huggers caught wind of the "blood money" being paid and put an end to that. I hope old Wyle E. is eating their cats right now.........

The huggers are pretty blind. The blood money is already being paid out in the form of compensation for livestock kills, over $100K/year. This way they are paying more toward prevention than compensation...

I would have no doubt that livestock kill payouts in Ontario are upwards of $5 Millon per year...In our township, they pay out $125 for a lamb kill. Double that for a calf...

I didn't see where the article actually said they thought about $100 per yote. That seems steep, probably only last year at that rate before the county ran out of sheckles.

It doesn't say. I heard about it from locals, who said the $100 is being discussed in the news...

Damn id just be happy just to get out in the bush. Land owners let me know... you can take 75% and ill take 25%

There was a meeting on Monday at 7:30pm regarding this at the Bellleville fish and game club I never got to attend but there is no way they will instate a $100 bounty the talk is $25-40 but the MNr haven't even been consulted by the sounds of it.

Whatever the amount is, its a step in the right direction...
