Possible Elephant Hunt being Auctioned at SCI Calgary

SCI members are a cross section of society. I'm a life member and am not wealthy. Working 28 years for a municipal government does not make you wealthy. My wife stayed home or worked part time when the kids were small. No flying vacations for decades. I would buy a new vehicle when the old vehicle wore out and was more costly than car payments. Extra money poured into mortgage. Then one day you wake up, no car payments, no mortgage, the hard work paid off. Belonging to SCI had shown me that overseas hunting is not that expensive if you compare it to guided hunting in North America. If you want to, you can save and make it happen.

Since 2014 I've hunted South Africa twice taking 17 species of antelope and hunted Florida for hogs once. All for less than a guided Bighorn sheep hunt.

I don't spend money on taxidermy, I bring European mounts home and five hides.

So the average Joe can do it, he just has to want to.

I toured Kruger a year ago. Heard park staff say they figure the elephant population is 3x its capacity right now and rapidly climbing.

On a side note my 5 euro mounts from S.A should be here by February.
