I just picked this up off the EE. It looks suspiciously like a Finnish captured M44. All bolt parts have the hardness "dimple". The stock looks suspiciously "Finn"
Also there is an odd mark that is somewhat like a lightly stamped SA mark. However all the parts match? Either way it is a beautiful M44

I don't see anything distinctly Finn - if it is however it is quite the rare rifle! Either way it sure is a nice carbine.

.
A Finnish capture rifle usually has a "SA" inside a rectangle stamped on the front left side of the receiver.
.

It is true they Have the SA mark. I have seen that mark all over the receiver however. I have my buddys sporter here that has it upside down on the right side? It too is very lightly struck.

Nice M44 but I don't see anything outwardly 'Finn' about it. What is the hardness 'dimple' on the bolt parts that you are referring to?

All Finn rifles I have encountered (dozen or so) dimples on various parts of the bolt and rifle where the hardness of the metal was tested. Very small dimples. If you have a Finn around just look at it. You will see them on the underside of the receiver near the ring as well. Just my experience. This rifle has that.
