Hello everyone
Looking for some info about this mosin, I believe it to be a Spanish cival war rifle. It has an import mark that says made in USSR. Rifle looks to have not been refurbished. Has original soviet cartouche on stock. Bolt does not match the receiver but the butplate and floor plate do. It does not have the bladed front sight that other scw mosins have based on my research. Looking for more info on this rifle and a possible value for it.
Thanks

Basically the first imports of Mosin-Nagants in North America was done by Interarms. Sam Cummings bought all the surplus Spanish Civil War guns from stores in the late 1950's, at that time US laws specified that imported rifles were marked to country of manufacture. The added swivel was added by the Spanish to be able to use mauser slings. Interarms imported from Spain a large numbers of different rifles, including Mosins, Winchester 1895 Russian Muskets, Italian Vertelli-Vitaly M74/80/16 rifles, Polish Mausers.

Looks like a normal early round receiver M91/30 to me.

With mismatched bolt maybe $225 depending on how good the bore is.

Very interesting, thanks for the info, any idea about what it’s worth?

Yes it is 9130 but it is not one of the common refurb rifles that we have seen in the recent years. It has not been refurbished and seems to retain some of its original parts which I believe is fairly uncommon due to the refurb process

Almost certainly Spanish Civil War. You'll find lots of info about these on Gunboards forums. Market value here in Canada is a tough one. To a certain type of collector this is far more valuable than a new-appearing refurb 91/30. Try it on the EE at $450.

I do not think this one has been refurbished, the ones that went through the spanish rebuilding program will be marked MP8 on the buttstock and usually have a shortened handguard. I believe this rifle is an untouched battlefield veteran.

I agree with you, I was looking online at other examples of Spanish cival war rifles and most had like an m91 front sight and different stock cartouches. Maybe it was issued and at the end of service it was just put in a crate. Wish there was more info on the scw mosins as a big part of the fun of this hobby for me is finding out its history

Both Mosin-Nagant M1891 and M1891/30 were supplied by the Soviets during the Spanish Civil War.
