I'd take 2. I'm not paying 2000+ for what people here think they are worth.
It's a supply and demand thing. LMG went up to 3 K when not many were available and sold as low as 1,400 when the market was oversaturated. Now back to normal. Same will happen if another shipment of standard rifles should come. The Canadian market for firearms is not that big and many people prefer black rifles in general. Only the ban last year helped to push the type 81 into focus. Before that, you could pick them up new for $999 and I remember one for sale with quadrail, 8 mags etc for $800. And it was sitting for at least 2 weeks without takers. I was tempted but didn't take it.
I had an Armalite 180B sitting for 10 years in my closet, picked it up for 1K and many people called it a wannabee AR. Well, somebody paid me $2,900 a few months ago (he is super happy with it by the way, a tack driver).
edit: Many envious people at the range he told me recently, he was already offered 4k for it, that's how it goes.
edit again: Just look at some of the PCC prices, what people were willing to pay for a Ruger with adjustable stock, as high as 2K or a Kel Tec Sub for 1,500. Even now is one for sale on the EE for 1,100 and you can pick them up right now at many dealers for 849. Wait until those are gone and the price will pop right up again (not investment advice but a sure thing in my opinion).
