Possibly a dumb question

While not as noticeable as one would see on something like a 308, bedding can be a benefit on some 22's.

Checking for proper barrel tension (on front mounting screw), or barrel clearance on th stock, or barrel pre-tension (at front of stock) is probably more critical for a 22.

I've bedded many from 18-45 and I'd have to say there is a ton of benifts from bedding the 22's.

Usually they have some hot friends with that with the right wine will join right in

But seriously, if you are looking for the utmost in precision what not to say it would not work? Anything that solidifies the solidness of a firearm would be benifical for accuracy. I'd bed the action and free float the barrel myself.

Many .22RF rifles that actually NEED bedding already are.

My seven older .22RF guns - are still the way that they were made between 1910 and 1964 - the eighth, an Anschutz, would not care to be fitted into the stock by anything except the Anschutz torqued-up screw bedding system, and as it shoots raggedy 1/4 holes of five shots at 50m, I'm leaving it well alone.

Your mileage may vary.
