Just started playing post-apocalyptic themed computer games recently, Metro 2033 Redux, Fallout 4, Rage, to name a few. I know the latter is a really old game, still fun though, especially after watching Mad Max: Fury Road last summer. I really like some of the post-apocalyptic gun designs, especially the double-barreled shotguns. Here's a pic of the Metro 2033 double shotty:

And below is the concept art for the double-barreled shotgun for Fallout 4 (don't think it made it into the game though):

Just wondering if anyone else out there like these like I do? Or am I the oddball?

Not mine. Image search "Steampunk Shotgun" - endless gun pron of this flavour:

Wow sweetness indeed!!! What game/movie is this from?!

None, AFAIK. Just something some random internet dude slapped together.

Another place to check out is Dr. Dgrordbort's. It's a weird fab shop done up by the guys at Weta Workshop (the New Zealand movie FX crew behind "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" etc.)

They come up with some cool stuff, and actually sell it.

Duly noted, thank you Grelmar! :)

yeah I do too. rage was good, but could have been so much better. Also too darn short. Mad max video game is cool. Fallout series is my fav though. Metro was good, but I hated having to scrounge for gas mask filters and worry if my mask got broken. I still want to get/make a leg sheath and get the chiappa triple threat and go pistol grip style......

LOL Infidel29 I agree with you on all these games 100%, Fallout series is my favorite too. I'm wondering these days whether or not to go into the zombie apocalypse theme and buy all the Walking Dead series DVDs and play DayZ and H1Z1.

I do love some of the guns these games come up with. And I cannot wait to see what DLC's will add to fallout 4. I'm really hopeing for some new power armors.

But the minute fallout becomes a reality, this is happening.

Buzzballer - Very cool design, and practical in the post nuclear setting too! Is this from Fallout 4 or the new Mad Max movie?

Brutus - Thank you for the input Brutus, not boring at all! I'm no expert on shotguns (actually I have yet to own one) so anything on the subject is interesting to me :D

I like the Mad Max shotgun. I'm surprised there isn't someone manufacturing something similar that is inportable into Kanada. Of course, under the best of circumstances it would be classed as restricted.

Not necessarily. There are a few guys around who've posted pics of their short barrelled coach guns with bird's head grips that just barely make the OAL requirements to keep it non-r. It can be done.

I have an 870 with a Raptor grip that barely makes it over 26" with a 14" barrel. It's not something than can be easily fired with one hand. So, you could pretty much assume the same for a coach gun conversion.

Yeah I bet you're right. Still pretty cool tho don't you agree?!

To each their own, however,I like the Mad Max style listed above because it can be fired by one hand as it is intended to be. If you needed to make compromises for the sake of a more desirable classification status, it's no longer suitable for its intended purpose. So, no, I don't agree with you no matter how "cool" it would look. Keep it as originally intended and live with the restricted classification.

If I wanted a short length shotgun that needed both hands to shoot with, I'd just stay with what I already own.

Definitely. Have to remember they're using blanks in the movies and have no recoil. You can shoot a 14" with Raptor grip one-handed but it's not that comfortable and you can't do it all day... 2 handed from the hip, it's comfortable. At least you have 5+1 shells (2 3/4) in the shorty 590A1.

Sorry for the late reply guys, spending all my spare time in the Milsurp section these days, my apologies.

Mossberg_590A1, you're absolutely right, cannot sacrifice safety for the sake of coolness, I'll keep that in mind.

st1264 - I know they were firing blanks in the movies, but I forgot about the recoil because of this; I thought the recoil is just like that in the movies because I've never shot one, have to give it a try some day.
