Sometimes I like to share the pictures of my collection with no italian friends in other boards and forum. Well in italy we have not so big limitations about semiautomatic weapons or automatic weapons modified in semiautomatic, except the job to do to make legal here and passing to our national proof house of Gardone Val Trompia.

Ok not a post II WW but always interesting

Nice collection,
I was hoping for a BM59 though.

Impossible the BM59 is still in use in our army so only deactivated ones in the civilian market and a little expensive. Is possible to find the BM62 civilian model, I had one of them in the past when they were cheap, but with prices around the 3.500-4.500 € I'm not so rich damn it.

Thanks for the pics, nice collection. One question, is that M76 as uncomfortable as it looks?

For me is one of the best marksman rifle in the world: strong enough, caliber 8x57 Mauser, Zrak scopes are extremly good made and funny to shoot. At the range is normal to do groups of 10 shoots at 300 meters in 8 centimeters with fast shooting. The rifle weight like a Garand and the plastic butplate help a lot. Is the only original sniper that is not so expensive for my pokets lol

That's a very nice collection I'm very jealous.

Just curious but does anyone now if STG-57 are legal ( not prohibited) in Canada because I would love to have one even if they are very funny looking. M76 would be awesome to but they are AKs variants :(

80mm @ 300m? That's 0.9 MOA, for 10 shots fired fast. I would want to see that done before I repeated the story.

Stgw57 were all made select fire, so they are 12(2) prohibited. The PE57 was a semi-auto only version, it is 12(5) prohibited, same as the M76.

All the other rifles shown are non-restricted in Canada, and at least somewhat available.

Fast for me are 10 shoots in 3 minutes lol Sorry for the misunderstanding :) Well the M76 was used also in Bosnia against one of our peacekeeper soldier, killed at the distance of 500 meters. Sad to say but the famous sniper road in Sarajevo both the Serbs than Bosnian used M76 like sniping weapon. Interesting peace of History but i'm luky that mine came from a Slovenian arsenal.

I am surprised that stuff is allowed in Italy.
I thought all the EU countries were quite restrictive.

Well is different from Country to Country but in all of the European Union there are weapons that must be declared to police, other not and other free but each country can make more restrictive laws for security problem.

In Italy are only free Muzzleloaders rifles and pistols replicas and air rifles with a power less of 7,5 J all the other must be declared to the police/military police commands ( also ancient historical weapons made before 1890 because under the control of our Ministry of Culture). For our gun laws Stg57 and the M76 are hunting weapons like the AR15 etc...etc...

Thank you very much for posting to our community. It is very interesting to see what other countries do.

Do you hunt with your guns? Shoot in competitions? or just collect and enjoy them privately.

First of all Collector, i'm a history Nerd sice the elementary school, and shooting with them at the ranges and during national competitions, I was the only shooter in Italian Surplus Rifles Championship to use a Long Branch n°4 MkI with two groves and arrived 27th over 150 shooters. Not a Hunter yet I have not the DNA for that.

Thanks for the explanation.
You say that the StG57 and M76 and AR-15 are hunting weapons.
That implies that you can take them into the forest, away from a formal firing range.
In Canada, that would be called Non-Restricted class.
Can you go into the woods just to "plink"? (very informal shooting, shooting at tin cans, etc)

And welcome to the mighty CGN! How did you hear of us?

Beautiful collection...and thanks for sharing from Italy !

I was there for 3 weeks in 2006 travelled from Naples to Venice by myself....I'd love to live there for a few years, hope to return soon. I'm pretty sure I fell in love with over a hundred beautiful Italian women while I was there ;)

Informal shootong is impossible in Italy for non hunters and only the hunting season. In Italy we have many kind of gun licenses ( self defence, Hunting and Sport Shooting) and all of them are equal for guns number:

3 Pistols
6 Sportig Weapons
8 Historical weapons made before 1890
no limitation number for hunting rifles.

The problem is that we are 60 millions of people in a country 320.000 square Kilometers so difficult to find places to shoot without to go to the official gun ranges of the different shooting federations.
About the last question: I have known you from the Gunboards.com forum :)
