Let’s see some fancied up 1301s

I’ve done the following:
-Aridus Stock adapter and Magpul SGA stock
-S&J Extension and Shot cards
-Aimpoint up top, needs an Aridus CROM soon
-Brushstroke paint job done with Freedom Stencils

Not as colorful as yours, just a plain ODG.

Some super nice shotguns, guys!

I keep reading/hearing that this thing shoots smoother/kicks less than a pump action, even if its heavier. Do you find that true?

I know the gas system takes some of the stank off, but does it really kick noticably lighter than say, a 590A1 or 870?

It’s smooth as hell and eats every different type of shells I’ve fed it. It’s very comfortable and I’d say it’s on par or less then an 870 with an 18.5” barrel.

My fastest time of 7 rounds of buck on steel at 20yd is 1.6sec. So take that for what you will.

The gas operated system on the 1301 really does magic on reducing felt recoil.
It’s especially apparent with a red dot sight.
The gun recoils barely up and to the left (I’m left handed it would be the opposite if you are right handed) and settles right back onto target. It’s a smooth light recoil that is miles more manageable then a pump action.

Compared to my 16 inch Mossberg O/O I can't wait to get on the 1301. Obviously I can't use a pump but the gas system definitely takes the kick out the equation allowing to easily be operated with 1 arm. With 0 issues.

Not really. It is light in weight in the first place. You'd feel a difference with Benelli M4 or Versamax.

Interesting to get so many widely varied answers. Some people say night and day difference, better than a pump. Some people say no, not really. How do you find it feels?

I was wondering just how much force the operation could use to defy physics, in that it is a pound lighter than the usual pump gun. Could be the impulse is smoother, less jumpy, but the delivered energy is about the same?

1ABNDT, awesome!

Not a “tactical” but my version, I couldn’t have another 18.5 shotgun, the competition was perfect for me, 24 inch barrel with the vented rib is a laser, I can sling slugs and it gobbles up target load and easily busts clays at 50-60 yards

I love my 1301 comp with the 21" barrel. Thought about the tactical but hate ghost ring sights. Been shooting beaded shotguns for over 50 years so it's just natural fore me
