here is a pic of 303carbine's target that he shot with his Model 70 Stainless rifle at 100 yards. The load is 58 grains of IMR 4831 under a Nosler 180 grain Ballistic Tip. He put a dime next to it for comparison.

Savage 12FV in 223, 600 meters, 2.5 inch group... Yes, 2.5 inches at 600 meters!!! I thought that this was pretty good, then my buddy shot a 2 and 5/16th's inch group with his Savage 10FP in 223!!! He beat me by 3/16th's of an inch!!! Damn the luck!!! His pic is the last one...

Cheers

Friday September 9 @ Miramichi Sportsman Club.

100 yard with my new Win M70 Ranger in 30-06. Just installed a new VX-I 3-9x40 and it was my very 1st time firing this gun.

Took about 6 rounds to get on paper and another 4 to dial it in. Fired 2 sets of 3-shot groups - this being the best one by a slim margin.

With 165 gr. Federal Vital Shok factory ammo, this is a 0.8" group with no wind. I'm just getting back into hunting/shooting after quite a few years away from the sport, so I'm not what I'd consider a great shot. But this rifle seems to work well in spite of my limitations and I was happy with the performance.

Here is the group from my Tikka 7mm mag using 140 grain Accubond and 62 grains of IMR 4350. I plan on using this load for moose and deer this season.

There is some mighty fine shooters here on gunnutz, I can see why the game are all very nervous. Maybe if you want to be successful this year you better hide your gunnutz hats and t-shirts.

Not my best groups, but these two are from a Savage 340 in 30-30 Win I'm playing with right now (bought from a member here!!). Load is factory Winchester 170 gr Power Points, now that I know the rifle will shoot I will start load development.

Here's a typical group from my M700SSDM in 30-06. This rifle will shoot anything I feed it under 1", and many under ¾". http://www.hunt101.com/img/325919.jpg
And how about that 700 Classic in 300 Savage. This one is at 250 meters. http://www.hunt101.com/img/325920.jpg
Accurate rifles are a joy to use, Eagleye.

My best group was out of my.223 savage. Allthough I no longer own this rifle, another fellow gun nut does. Hope it shoots as well for him as it did for me.

55g moly coated combined tech, winchester brass, match primers, and 24.5g of W748. 6 shots at 100 yards.
