I just got these babies! A 1936 No.2 Mk1 and a 1943 No.2 Mk1*. I dunno for sure but it looks like the Mk1* has been parkerized over the original black finish. Anyone know what that black finish is called?
The bores on both are very nice and they are also both excellent shooters.
The Mk1 is stamped to death. On the cylinder, cylinder face, and all over the frame. The Mk1* is hardly stamped at all. Not even the Enfield Insignia on the frame. I don't know if this is evidence of wartime manufacture or of a refurb of some sort.
Really happy to have the set as my first milsurp handguns.
