I think you underscored yourself, check bullet holes - put cartridge through the hole or something. Even if it is just scratching paint off 10 then its 10.

i found using the super X target ammo vs the federal bulk stuff made a huge diferance.

also, for scoreing i foudn it helpfull to put a unshot target behind the one your trying to score, expecialy when yuo punch out the bull like i do :D

I also tried the 100m unlimited, but it was to windy to get a group.

Shooting at 100 yards with any ammount of wind can be really difficult. It was blowing about 30 kmh here today, so probably about the same in Ucluelet. Like you said, to windy to get a group

the trick is all in the sling.
or being really good. im not that good, so i use a sling.
i also shot that after i was shooting at other targets for a coupel hours before hand to warm up.

had a couple flyers out to the 8 and 7 ring, but the rest of them all were in the X and 9
 
Brno #4 is a heavy beast for off hand shooting!

Hi... I'm afraid to try the off hand shoot!

I just got a #4... and I've tried shooting it off hand a few times... man what a beast!

I'll practice a bit more before I try one of the targets!

Nothing to be afraid of. Trying off hand on targets is the best way to learn. You can dryfire at home all you want but I personally never improved much untill this postal match. Competition is ultimate training exersice, and fun too. Do some reading on standing position, refining your position and working on your natural point of aim helps a lot. Some extra clothing can simulate for shooting jacket. I know one guy he put himself relatively simple goal - place all shots within black. Nothing dramatic but having achievable goal helps to keep morale high.

guess you will have to get out there and try again ;)

maybe next week ill try and beat taht score, although i might have to shoot 5 shots at 4 bulls, cause it was really hard to score it as it was.

as for a heavy gun, just practice. my 10/22 has a fluted bull barrel on it, so its not to bad, but its still alot heavyer than stock.

try getting some 10lb dumbells and holding them out to work on your shoulder muscles. but dont do that for a couple days before you shoot.
i found out the hard way, working your shoulders a day or two before shooting = bad shooting. i could hardly hold my gun up.

Great shooting EB!

Them Brno's (especially the #4) are heavy, but certainly great guns. It will be really interesting to see how it managaes off the bench at 100 yards.

I also shot a 50 yard open sight target. I supposes sighters would have helped (I lost 5 points on my first 5 shots), but I didn't have a bad finnish.

It was raining like crazy, and the wind was maybe 5kmh an hour or so.
 
Wow, A great day at the range today! Perfect temperature, not much wind and sunny (plus I was happy with my shooting :D)

I must say though, shooting my 13lb Valmet Finnish lion gun offhand is quite the struggle in a short time period, but I do think that I can do better with it than all my other guns, plus I broke a personal record today.

I shot with a shooting glove (but no other shooting equipment). I lost 11 points on my top target and 9 on the bottom. Overall I was happy with how the gun performed offhand.

And I shot a 50 Yard Open sight target - 1 point higher than my last one.

I only had 1 target remaining for the open sight match so I shot it like that. There was one shot where i could not tell what the score was so I scored it as the lower of the two.

And a couple more to report. I shot fairly well on my 100 yard unlimited. Please note though, at our local club we shoot a very similar target with the exact same dimentions for the target expcept just slightly different lay-out (but as I mentioned, target size is exactly the same). I used my score from this shoot, so if anybody sees a problem with this please let me know :)

I only had time to shoot the 50 yd. open sight today and with winchester expert .22 HP bulk. I had a misfire during the match but replaced the round with another one.
