Hello guys,
A couple of months ago I bought a Bell & Carlson A5 stock from a guy on here for my Remington 700 in 223, it came without the sling studs but it had a piece of picatinny installed in the front rail. Fitting was amazing and it worked great on bags, giving me the best groups I've had with this rifle so far. Recently I decided to try with a cheap UTG bipod that I had on my previous stock, and was surprised to find that the whole rifle was leaned to one side very significantly, so I had to adjust the legs of the bipod individually to make up for the tilt. Let me say it doesn't feel good to have to do that after a $600 investment for a stock or whatever I paid for it. I hadn't noticed at first, but the rail which is imbedded in the front part of the stock seems to be crooked or misaligned or something. I'm just eyeballing it but I'm pretty sure that's the problem. The lip of the rail sticks out slightly on one side and it doesn't on the other, so it's clearly uneven in some way. Is it enough to account for all of the tilt, I don't know but anyway it's bad enough I think.
At this point I'm not quite sure what to do. Is there some way to fix this myself? I can't imagine B&C would help me with a problem for a stock that I bought on the EE forum and that I don't have any sort of receipt for. I ask here because I figure the precision rifle people would be familiar with the B&C A5 stock.
I'd greatly appreciate any help, tips or tricks.
Cheers guys. And sorry if I'm asking this question on the wrong forum.
