what is the difference in the two red dot sights?
ie:

and

The ultra dot on top is a holographic sight. The device projects a laser image onto the viewing glass. The red dot below has some sort of internal illuminating(such as LED) source that produces the image.

The main difference is the bottom scope is fully enclosed thus can work in all weather (assume it is weatherproof).

The top one projects a beam from the rear section to the lense. Anything that gets in the way disrupts the light and the sight is 'dead'. This one is more likely to break in rough use since the lense is not well protected. It is also alot lighter and lower in profile.

In function, they both do the same and offer similar optical properties.

so one sacrifices weight for durability and the other doesnt

would the bottom one be more apt to keeping its zero on a larger recoil gun or is the top one going to do just as good a job
