Powder and Primer storage.

that I require a 3/4 inch locked wooden box with brass fittings to properly store powder and primers if I wish to reload. Can anyone direct me to where I might purchase this? Sure, I can make one but I would like to know what the options are before I start on the project.

As you're probably already aware the box must be labeled "EXPLOSIVES", the linked picture doesn't show that. I built my own and it was a fun project that kept me off the couch during one week's evenings. I'd post pics of my powder and primer magazines but I'm not permitted to include attachments :(

What I've found is that there's a lot of misconceptions out there on what the actual regs are. I think this stems from people giving the regs a quick glance without actually digging deeper to the specific regs for ammunition and smokeless powder. That section is quite deep in the regs. I posted the pertinent section in the post I provided the link for above.

Now to check if the new regs have been ratified / legislated....
 
After re-reading the forum's rules I don't think I'm about to break any rules:

Note the register on the RHS is baseboard hot-water heating, not electric, hence not a fire hazard. The three little wooden "knobs" on the top serve to completely bury the hinge and lock clasp 1 1/2" brass screws. Also note the lock's steel portion is wrapped in green electrical tape, excessive yes as steel on brass will not spark. No inflammable substances, other than the magazine contents, in this room.

Stored in a different room, again nothing inflammable here other than the magazine contents, this is just a smaller version of the powder magazine.

The cover fits down tightly and seals the box. Note the brass screw heads.

Thank you for the pictures. Those look great!

I think I will do something similar when I have a bit more space. Since 'suitable' material isn't defined I think I am going to use a properly marked Canadian Tire plastic toolbox for now. It has a place for a lock so I think that should meet the requirements on a basic level.
